Volunteer - Make a Difference!

Become a Memorial Health Center Volunteer! At Memorial Health Center, we strongly believe that a first-rate medical facility is a vital community resource. You can share in our commitment to the community's health by joining our volunteer team. MHC Volunteers serve our hospital patients, residents and tenants, and visitors in a variety of ways.

A tradition of volunteering - the MHC Volunteers have served Memorial Health Center since 1961. The organization was chartered before the construction of the hospital to assist in any capacity necessary during the facility's construction.

Today, the Memorial Health Center Volunteers proudly continue to serve and support all of the services provided at Memorial Health Center.

Volunteer Rewards & Requirements

Volunteering offers you the chance to use your existing skills to help others, make friends, develop leadership skills, explore health care careers, experience personal growth, and build self-esteem. As a MHC Volunteer, you can contribute as much of your time as your personal schedule allows.

All prospective volunteers must be at least 16 years of age, and will need to:

• complete an application and submit references
• receive a personal interview
• gain medical clearance
• attend volunteer orientation

Once accepted, you will participate in a corporate orientation and receive training. During orientation, you will learn about the services provided at Memorial Health Center, rights and responsibilities, personal and patient safety measures and how volunteers are a significant part of Memorial Health Center's healthcare team.

Volunteer Opportunities

Today, volunteers have many opportunities to serve our healthcare center as its services continue to grow. We appreciate your interest in helping others, and will try to find an assignment suitable to your needs and interests, while supportive of the staff and patients at Memorial Health Center. There are many volunteer opportunities available during the day, in the evening and on weekends. Generally, a minimum of a once-a-week commitment for six months is preferred, although some short-term assignments are available.
